Claire McQuerry is the author of Lacemakers (SIU Press), which won the Crab Orchard First Book Prize and was a finalist for the Washington State Book Award. Her translation with Celine Bourhis of Virginie Lalucq's Cutting the Stems (Saturnalia Books) won the Malinda Markham Translation Prize. Her poems and essays have appeared in Gettysburg Review, Image, Tin House, Poetry Northwest, American Literary Review, Creative Nonfiction, Waxwing, Permafrostand other journals. She is the recipient of a Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Prize, a Walter E. Dakin Fellowship from the Sewanee Writer's Conference, a fellowship from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and Notable Essay distinction from Best American Essays. She is an Assistant Professor at Bradley University.
